SDADA Tool Program

The SDADA Board of Directors has decided to develop a Tool Grant Program that is intended to assist new technicians with the purchase of the tools necessary to perform the job. There are ten grants available per calendar year at $3,000 each. The three thousand dollar grant offered by the SDADA is intended to be matched by the dealership for a total of $6,000. Part of this program includes a contract that requires repayment of the $3,000 dealership match while the $3,000 SDADA Grant is not required to repaid.

Some additional program rules are as follows:

•       An executed copy of the Technician Tool Grant Program Contract must be sent to the SDADA

•       Since this program is designed to attract technicians, only new technicians are eligible to apply

•       Grant checks will be issued in both the technician’s name and the dealer’s name to insure the funds are used for the intended purchase

•       Toolbox and tool purchase receipts must be sent to the SDADA for auditing and tax purposes

•       Each dealership or dealership group is eligible for only one grant per calendar year
